In addition to the reliability data provided as standard with each new product, further reliability assessments can be made for specific environments or operating temperatures if needed. A Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) can be useful to identify the most likely types of failures and their effect upon the product.

FMECA is used with the reliability analysis to assist in overall system design and to make predictions of future logistics requirements, both in the field and at base depot, to optimize the availability of the equipment in its end-use application. A full range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation, repair and rovisioning recommendations is also offered.

Logistics Reporting

Defense Solutions breadth of experience and expertise delivering market-leading embedded computing products make the IST a one-stop provider for hardware, software, and support service reports. This wealth of knowledge is applied to Quality Reporting services that feed directly into a customer's Performance Based Logistics and Integrated Support Logistics needs.

Services include Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) reports in accordance with MIL-HDBK- 217F Notice 2 reliability prediction models for Integrated Circuits, Electromagnetics and Interconnect, and using the DoD Reliability Analysis Center's PRISM RACRates for Passives, Discreets and Digital Oscillators.

MTBF analysis can be expanded to encompass Failure Mode Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and root cause analysis.
