Versatile Flight Control Computers
Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions' Versatile Flight Control Computer (VFCC) provides a low size, weight, power and cost (SWaP-C) design for commercial airborne avionics applications. Its multi-processor architecture and small form factor design enables great flexibility for use in multiple applications including flight controls, engine controls, mission computing, etc. The VFCC offers dual processor clusters each with an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, TMS320C64x+ DSP processor, and a Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA. The VFCC includes a wide variety of available off-the-shelf interfaces including ARINC 825, RS-422, USB, ARINC 429, analog, and discrete. Due to its low weight and low power consumption, the VFCC is ideal for airborne applications. It is qualified for rotorcraft and manned/unmanned aircraft environments. The VFCC can record up to 1GB of data to non-volatile memory. The system includes a system built-in-test (BIT).
