Prognostics / Diagnostics
The Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions' prognostic technology is a real-time health management system (HMS) - monitoring and analyzing operational health to assist in performing maintenance, ordering parts and retesting after system repair. The prognostic system provides the earliest indication of failures before these faults become permanent. Utilizing patented sensors and software, the Curtiss-Wright prognostic system provides real-time measurement of friction via acoustic emissions in operating machinery. By measuring friction, the prognostic system detects and monitors machine degradation long before the problem becomes harsh enough to produce oil debris, vibration or permanent failures.

The Curtiss-Wright acoustic based prognostic system monitors the condition of operating bearings and gearboxes to determine the equipment’s health. Maintenance personnel receive clear color indicators to aid in deciding when to perform maintenance. The prognostic system data can be sent in real-time to a data center for storing, feature extraction, display, alarm dispatching and archiving.
The prognostic technology is deployed in military application including but not limited to helicopter and ground combat vehicle drive train components, hovercraft high-speed engines, shipboard propulsion and power generation monitoring.
Ask your sales representative how to reduce your system wear, maintenance costs and manpower requirements using Curtiss-Wright prognostic technology.
