This ruggedized custom rack mount enclosure is a convection-cooled rackmount chassis for ground mobile applications. It includes a front load 3U 6-slot air-cooled card cage, a 6-slot custom 3U CompactPCI backplane, and 630 Watt embedded 115/230V AC power supply. The  rugged chassis is cooled by four high performance fans with fan speed control, supplying extreme cooling at 20 CFM per slot. This enclosure includes a custom embedded chassis management module and an embedded router card. The front panel and rear panel include I/O connectors which are connected to the backplane using I/O breakout boards. This rugged rack-mount enclosure could be adapted for different applications with VPX, OpenVPX, VME, cPCI or hybrid backplanes. The chassis also supports rugged environmental levels for MIL-STD-810 for shock, vibration, salt fog, sand and dust, and fungus. Different types of power input can also be accommodated, as well as different levels of payload power dissipation and/or altitude.

• Description: This custom enclosure from Curtiss Wright Controls Defense Solutions acts as a high power air-cooled server. Designed to cool 6-slots of 3U cPCI payload, this chassis uses side-to-rear cooling. The chassis includes an embedded chassis management module and an embedded router card. The custom backplanes includes hot swap circuitry for a payload card that does not support hot swap.
